Barça to Host Historic Fixture at Upgraded Camp Nou on Saturday
The club confirmed they will play at the still-under-construction Camp Nou over the weekend. The club will host the Basque side in the Spanish league two and a half years since relocating so building work could begin.
“We’ve dreamed about the return. Now, it’s here. We’re back home. Back at Spotify Camp Nou.”
Not all seats will be available though over 45,000 attendees will be allowed to watch based on approved permits. After final construction, it will accommodate almost 105,000 spectators, up from the previous 99,000. The club said finished work included a renovated tunnel for players plus modern locker rooms.
Stadium Testing
Barça organized a public practice at the Camp Nou earlier this month. The club said they are seeking authorization from Uefa to play their next home Champions League game versus the German side next month at the stadium. They have been hosting matches at the Olympic Stadium.
