Comedian and author David Walliams dropped by publishing house.
Prolific children's author and entertainer David Walliams has been dropped by his UK book publisher, according to an announcement.
A representative for the firm stated: "Upon deliberation, and under the leadership of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK has decided not to publish future works by David Walliams."
Media sources suggest that the move was taken subsequent to an investigation into claims about questionable actions directed at young women.
The company declined to specify the reasons for its decision, adding: "We do not comment on confidential company decisions."
A Highly Successful Writing Journey
Walliams ranks among Britain's most successful children's authors, boasting over in excess of 60 million copies globally in five dozen languages.
The debut children's novel from Walliams, *The Boy in the Dress*, came out under HarperCollins back in 2008.
Some of his titles, including *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have also been adapted into television films.
To date, he has released over four dozen titles altogether, which features a Christmas book titled *Santa & Son*, which came out under HarperCollins this past October.
From Screen to Page
His initial claim to fame came on the broadcast sketch program *Little Britain* and has been honored with National Television Awards for his duties as an arbiter on *Britain's Got Talent*.
He was awarded an OBE back in 2017 in recognition of his work for the charitable sector and arts community.
This development follows the naming of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's freshly installed boss last fall.
