McKenna's Stance on The Scottish Club

The Ipswich boss referred to the Glasgow giants as "an enormous soccer institution" but stressed he is "deeply involved" of a "extensive rebuilding" with Ipswich Town.

The 39-year-old assumed control of Portman Road in 2021 and guided the team to the English top flight with back-to-back promotions, but they managed only a handful of victories last campaign as they were demoted back to the Championship and they presently occupy 12th in the Championship.

"There have been any of those conversations," the London-born former Irish young player said when asked about being on Celtic's shortlist.

"This isn't a matter I have given any thought to, or where any portion of my concentration is currently.

"I possess a unique job here at a remarkable team. And we're at a really important stage of the season. Anything outside of that hasn't touched my awareness."

Background and Agreement Aspects

It has been suggested that McKenna would be willing to talk to the Scottish side given his childhood support.

"Growing up, we all have our affinities," he said when questioned about those. "I don't think all people has to go around and declare what they used to be, but of course it's a massive sports organization."

The coach agreed to a fresh four-year contract in 2024 and was questioned about his reported buyout clause.

"In every manager's contract, there are provisions," he replied. "I'm unaware what my specific terms are and, were I informed, I wouldn't tell you anyway!

"I tackle this job like I will remain Town's coach indefinitely. I understand that's not invariably going to be the situation, but I will consistently give maximum effort as long as I am here."

Bellamy's Situation

Bellamy represented the Hoops on loan from Newcastle United in 2005, but the former Welsh forward is inclined to finish the ongoing World Cup campaign, a position that would practically eliminate the 46-year-old from immediately taking the Glasgow position.

Wales are currently in third place in their qualifying group behind group toppers Belgium and second-placed North Macedonia.

Wins over Liechtenstein and their rivals in next month would book their position in the final qualifying round, but they are all but guaranteed of making those, thanks to a productive Nations League campaign, should they not end up their group runners-up.

Given his present stance, the Wales manager, whose contract expires after the European Championship, would not be available until after the play-offs at the earliest.
