New information has come to light about the untimely passing of esteemed filmmaker Rob Reiner and photographer Michele Singer Reiner, whose bodies were found at their Brentwood, Los Angeles residence on Sunday.

The Discovery

A source indicates quoting a person close to the family, a practitioner arriving for an appointment first raised the alarm after not being able to enter the residence. The therapist then got in touch with the couple's daughter, Romy Reiner, who resides close by.

After gaining access to the home, Romy came upon her father's body. It is said she then fled the house in anguish, unaware at that moment that her mother's body was there as well. Her roommate who had gone with her promptly called 911. Afterward, emergency responders discovered Michele Singer Reiner's body.

Criminal Developments

Authorities have formally accused the couple's 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, with two counts of first-degree murder, as well as the charge related to a weapon, reportedly a knife. He is presently detained without bail.

Disputed Reports

The confidential informant challenged several earlier details. The source indicated that while Romy Reiner told emergency responders that her brother Nick resided in a detached unit on the estate, she did not point to him as a person of interest at that juncture.

The source also refuted published claims that Rob and Michele Singer Reiner had been unusually "apprehensive" about Nick's conduct in recent weeks. Rather the family was "familiar with working through [Nick's] problems together."

According to law enforcement officials, the medical examiner had still not confirmed at that point whether the Reiners died on Saturday evening or on Sunday. Some accounts indicated the condition of their bodies implied they had been dead for a period of time.

Nick Reiner was apprehended at approximately 9:30 p.m. on Sunday in the Exposition Park area, about 15 miles from the family home. He was set to be arraigned on Tuesday, but his attorney, Alan Jackson, said his client had a medical issue and would be unable to attend until Wednesday at the earliest.
