Tottenham Manager Thomas Frank Labels Vicario Booers 'Not True Genuine Fans'

The Cottagers Begin Powerfully to Defeat Spurs and Raise Pressure on the Manager

Spurs supporters who booed keeper Guglielmo Vicario were informed later "those individuals can't be true Tottenham fans" by boss Frank.

Tottenham let in a pair of scores in the first six minutes to fall 2-1 to their opponents, registering their 10th Premier League at home defeat of the year.

However the main topic of discussion was Fulham's next score when the keeper lost possession far outside his area.

The goalkeeper ventured out to deal with a long ball and took the ball towards the touchline.

But, rather than kicking it into touch, the Italy international turned and attempted to clear away, but slipped as the ball skimmed off Wilson and was collected by King.

King passed the ball off to Wales midfielder Wilson, who curled a shot into the net from the sideline recorded at thirty-six point six metres.

Moments afterwards when the ball went to Vicario once more, some Tottenham fans jeered him.

The team were jeered off at the interval, with the side 2-0 behind, and once more at full-time.

A particular of those jeering episodes really angered the manager.

"I heard a few of our fans reportedly jeered the situation and booed following, which, in my view is totally unjustifiable," the Danish manager stated about the fans' response to his shot-stopper.

"Those individuals cannot be true Tottenham fans that do that. Alright jeering following the game, no problem, but when we are in play, we are supporting one another, we are with each other going forward."

Kenny Tete had handed Fulham a early advantage before Wilson's goal – with Mohammed Kudus netting for Spurs in an improved second-half showing.

Ex- top-flight goalkeeper Hart remarked that the next score was "completely preventable".

"I certainly appreciate the fans' disappointment," Hart added. "I am aware the part the keeper is performing. He's a excellent squad member, he is a true leader in the locker room but ultimately you are going to be assessed by your decisions.

"He was deeply involved in what ended up to be the decisive score."

'It is In the Game, I Can Handle It'

Frank Stood Up For His Goalkeeper Vicario After the Match

Italian international Vicario is in his 3rd campaign with Spurs.

The 29-year-old said following the game that he had to accept the feedback.

"The second score was a error of mine, I accept responsibility for it," he commented.

"The intent was to clear the ball long and I simply struck the ball in a poor way. It was an even bigger challenge to climb."

He said receiving jeers "comes with the game".

"I am mature, how can I respond?" he continued. "The team cannot be influenced by the situation in the crowd. Supporters have the right to do as they see fit.

"It is on the team to stay more calm, to focus on our own performance. The team is lacking in composure and calmness to overturn results. Today is a poor loss and it's hard to take."

'I Was Surprised No One Went Back to the Line'

Despite the keeper's mistake, it was not an easy score for Wilson to convert.

In fact it was the second longest-range top division goal of the season – after Adams' forty-three point three metre strike for Bournemouth against the Black Cats, which incidentally also came on the same day.

The goalscorer stated he was "a little bit taken aback" that he still had an empty net to target.

Ten seconds elapsed between Vicario exiting of his box and Wilson shooting – which was 5 seconds after the kick.

"I felt like the keeper was out of the area for a long time," Wilson said.

"I was surprised none of the back four returned to the line. When not one of them covered the net, my eyes sparked somewhat.

"Udogie fell as well, which allowed me a bit of additional time. Then it was all about trying to make the correct connection and place it on target. I felt a good sense, the moment it came off my boot, that it was on the right line."

'When You're in a Bad Spell, All Seems to Go Against You'

Booing Whilst We Are Still in Play Is Totally Unacceptable - the Manager

Although Vicario's error dominated coverage, this was an overall bad performance for Spurs to extend their home struggles.

This was their tenth at home loss of the year in the league, a joint club record along with 1994 and 2003.

The side still have home fixtures against the manager's old side the Bees and title holders the Reds to come before the end of the season.

Just a single of those wins have occurred since the manager replaced Ange Postecoglou in the summer.

"When you're behind 2-0 after six minutes, there is a mountain to climb," said the boss.

"During in a poor run, everything seems to go against you as well – the first was a deflected shot, the second is a error from Vic.

"This result leaves us in a place where we have lost an additional game. Each fixture has a single story, today we were defeated in the early stages.

"We just need to keep working. The second half was significantly improved and hopefully something we can utilize to develop."

Tottenham have been defeated in four straight at home London derbies for the first time in the Premier League.

Furthermore they are recording 9.5 shots and 3.2 efforts on goal per match in the division – their lowest rates on record in a single campaign (dating back to the 2003-04 season).

Ex- Fulham midfield player Murphy commented that Frank has to ride the storm.

"He's got take the criticism," the pundit remarked. "He has taken a high profile job at a major football club with massive anticipation. There is scrutiny and responsibility that accompanies that.

"Their showings at their stadium have been disappointing and they have to get better {quickly|
